GBH win at Surrey Law Society Legal Awards 2021 - GBH Law

GBH celebrated at the Surrey Law Society awards last Thursday evening with nominations for Kate Doody for Corporate Lawyer of the Year and Lawyer of the Year and a win for Vicky Mason for Support Team Member of the Year.

Vicky was recognised for her commitment to GBH Law and, in particular, her reassuring office presence during the early stages of the pandemic when she volunteered to continue to work from the office and went in every day on her own to answer the main phone line, deal with the post and scan hard copy documents to fee earners.

In Vicky’s submission for Support Team Member of the Year, Christine Goodyear, who retired from GBH Law in April 2020 and who Vicky worked with for many years, commented:

“I could not have achieved as much as I did without Vicky’s personal and professional support. Not only does Vicky amaze with the speed of  turnaround of work given to her but she is unfailingly cheerful and willing as she goes about her tasks. Clients love her and she is guaranteed to raise morale in the office. A wonderful example of Vicky going above and beyond the call of duty was when she came to my rescue when I ran out of petrol on the way to the office. I rang Vicky who brought a can of petrol to get me going. But that was not the best – Vicky was actually on holiday from work that day which I had forgotten!”

The whole team had a fantastic evening and it was wonderful to be able to celebrate with our GBH Law colleagues and other lawyers and law firms in Surrey. A heartfelt congratulations go to all the nominees and winners and we are looking forward to seeing what next year’s awards bring!
