GBH Law appointed as T Level Business Partner for New Law Course at Farnham College - GBH Law
GBH Law is continuing its commitment to the local community and to supporting student education by being named the business partner for the new T Level Law course at Farnham College.
This exciting new initiative, run by Activate Learning, aims to provide students with the practical skills and real-world experience that are essential for a successful career in law.
Victoria Wootton, Employment Solicitor and Representative from GBH Law, will be actively involved in the project, leading sessions, delivering talks and offering practical guidance to students while they complete exercises such as drafting legal documents and communicating with clients. As part of this partnership, Victoria has been involved with designing the project behind the scenes, providing insight into how to incorporate realistic employment law scenarios into the coursework.
The project takes the form of a mock unfair dismissal Employment Tribunal case, in which students will take on the role of a trainee legal assistant. This provides a hands-on opportunity to develop a practical understanding of employment law and the intricacies of Employment Tribunal proceedings.
Victoria is excited to contribute her expertise, particularly by guiding students through a realistic legal experience, such as a mock employment tribunal case.
“GBH Law has always been passionate about supporting the next generation of legal professionals, and I’m thrilled to be part of this innovative project. It will help students gain valuable insight into the legal profession through hands-on experience, allowing them to better understand both the challenges and rewards of working in law. I’m looking forward to seeing how the students progress and supporting them as they develop the skills necessary to succeed,” said Victoria.
Ioan Davies, Faculty Director said,on behalf of Activate Learning, I would like to express our sincere thanks to GBH Law and to Victoria Wootton for the time, expertise and commitment they are offering our T Level Law students at Farnham College. This employment tribunal project gives learners a rare and valuable opportunity to work alongside a practising solicitor on a realistic legal scenario, helping them to build confidence, professional skills and a genuine understanding of the legal workplace. The support from GBH Law enables our students to complete a significant proportion of their industry placement hours in a meaningful and inspiring way, and we are extremely grateful for their partnership and belief in developing future legal talent.”
