Hamish Cameron Blackie retires from GBH Law

Fond farewell to Hamish Cameron Blackie as he retires

Hamish Cameron Blackie, one of the most respected and accomplished lawyers at GBH Law and across Surrey and the Southeast, retires today after years of hard work and dedication.

As Hamish begins this new chapter in his life, we would like to take a moment to express our gratitude for his years of service and wish him all the best in his retirement.

Hamish began his career in Leeds in 1985, moving to the then practice of Barlows in 1995, where he remained as it transitioned to Barlow Robbins LLP, before leaving in 2010 to establish his own practice with colleagues Christine Goodyear and Denise Herrington. Together they founded GBH Law with a renewed focus on prioritising clients’ needs. Over the years, Hamish has been instrumental in growing GBH Law into a team of ten lawyers who all share the same ethos and commitment to client service that he envisioned for us from the beginning.

During his time with us, he has demonstrated a level of professionalism and dedication that has set him apart as a true leader in his field. His expertise and legal acumen have helped countless clients navigate complex legal issues with ease, and his unwavering commitment to his clients and their needs, and his unfailing sense of humour, have earned him the trust and respect of all those who have had the pleasure of working with him.

Director Denise Herrington, who has worked with Hamish for over 20 years, said, “Hamish’s contribution to GBH Law has been invaluable, and we will greatly miss his presence and his great sense of humour. He has been a mentor and friend to many of us, and his guidance and support have helped shape the careers of so many junior lawyers who have had the privilege of working alongside him.”

Director Kate Doody said, “Hamish’s unparalleled legal expertise and unwavering dedication to his clients have made him an invaluable member of our team at GBH Law.  As he begins this new chapter in his life, we wish him all the best and thank him for his years of service and mentorship. He will continue to inspire us all and he will be missed!”

“Congratulations on your well-earned retirement and for an exceptional and fulfilling career in law. Your dedication, hard work, and expertise have been a great source of inspiration for me as well as leaving an indelible mark on our profession. As you embark on this new journey, I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy every moment of the adventures ahead of you.” Andrea Tishler, Director.

Director Kathryn Shaw said, “I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for all that Hamish has done for GBH Law and for the guidance he has given me over the years. I have no doubt that Hamish will make the most out of his well-deserved retirement and make a positive impact in whatever he does next.”

Hamish will be very much missed by the entire team at GBH Law. We take this opportunity to wish Hamish all the best in his retirement and hope that he enjoys this new phase of his life, filled with new adventures. We will miss him greatly, as will his clients!
