Our commitment to our local community
At GBH Law, we take Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) very seriously.
We believe that it is not only our duty to provide our clients with excellent legal services, but it is also our responsibility to give back to our community and take care of our team members.
At GBH Law, our team members are our greatest asset, and we strive to create a supportive work culture that fosters collaboration, teamwork, and personal growth. One of the ways we support one another is through our “Training Tuesdays” program. On the first Tuesday of every month, we gather together to attend training sessions on a variety of topics, such as well-being, legal updates, client management, and personal development. We share best practices and tips, and we also learn strategies to help us manage stress and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Investing in our team is very important to us and it also allows us to spend time with one another away from work to bond and to collaborate.
We also understand the importance of charity work, and we take part in a range of activities to raise funds for local charities. Our team events like Pancake Day, Burns Night, and our Summer Fair are not only great fun, but they have also helped us raise money this year for our chosen charities, Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service and Parkinson’s UK. We also hold an annual MacMillan coffee morning to which we invite other local businesses, and we collect food and other items for the local food bank throughout the year, but particularly at Christmas when we donate Advent Calendars, Selection Boxes & Savoury Biscuits, and Crackers to create Christmas Hampers to support local families in need. Two of our directors recently walked a marathon for Macmillan, taking part in the South Coast Might Hike and raising nearly £2,000 for a very worthwhile charity.
GBH Law also supports the Guildford Hockey Club, and we are active members of the Godalming Chamber of Commerce, with two of our team volunteering on the committee. Our more junior lawyers and trainees are also actively involved with the Surrey Junior Lawyers Division, and one of our directors sits on the Business Women in Surrey Committee.
At GBH Law, we are committed to our team members and to our community. We are passionate about giving back, and we believe that by supporting local charities and getting involved in committees and local events, we can make a real difference in our community, particularly since our own team are an important part of our local community as well. We believe that by investing in our team and giving back to our community, we can make a positive impact that goes beyond just providing legal services. We always look for ways to help those in need and we are proud of the positive impact that we are making and our commitment to Corporate and Social Responsibility. We look forward to continuing to make a difference in our community for years to come.
