GBH Law Advises on Strategic Merger with Rollings Butt

We are pleased to announce that GBH Law has advised Menzies on their recent merger with London-based firm Rollings Butt.

This marks the third merger that GBH Law has advised Menzies on within the last 12 months, underscoring both Menzies activity in the market place and our expertise and commitment to supporting strategic growth within the legal and business sectors.

Rollings Butt specialises in business restructuring and insolvency services, maintaining strong client relationships across several industries, including financial services, property and construction, technology, and intellectual property. The ten-strong team from Rollings Butt, including esteemed partners Steve Butt and James Money, will integrate with Menzies’ London team from their existing City-based office. This merger also leverages Menzies’ membership in the global HLB network, providing Rollings Butt’s clients with access to turnkey services in 150 countries.

This merger is a further significant achievement for Menzies, which has consistently pursued strategic mergers, particularly in London, to meet the growing demand for their services over the past 25 years. The merger aligns with Menzies’ ambitious growth target of achieving £75 million in turnover by June 2025, further enhancing their capacity to serve clients across a diverse range of industries and specialisms.

Laurence Pagden, Head of Business Recovery at Menzies LLP, commented: “Our merger with Rollings Butt represents another important growth milestone for the Business Recovery division as well as the wider Menzies team. This merger will further strengthen our presence in the capital. We share many valuable synergies with Rollings Butt, including strong connections to London, a collaborative approach to client work, and a robust company culture. Its location and client base in the City made it an excellent fit for us.

Business Recovery is one of Menzies’ core strengths, and adding more expert members to our specialist team will enable us to further enhance our proposition. We are delighted to welcome our newest members to the firm as we embark on this new journey together.”

GBH Law is proud to have played a role in this merger. This latest success reinforces our position as a leading advisor in mergers and acquisitions, and we look forward to continuing to support Menzies and our other clients in achieving their growth objectives.
