Andrea is an experienced employment law solicitor, who qualified in 1998. Her practice covers all aspects of employment law from recruitment to exit and everything in between! Her clients include SMEs, professional practices, charities and independent schools.
Andrea provides a hands-on approach to helping employers navigate the often complex and ever-changing array of employment legislation. To help her clients avoid claims in future, Andrea also provides in-house training tailored to client’s needs and requirements.
While most of Andrea’s work is for employers, she also acts for employees and has been involved in complex Tribunal proceedings involving unfair dismissal and discrimination claims as well as the negotiation of settlement agreements.
She heads up our team of independent school specialists and has extensive experience of advising independent schools on a full range of legal issues including parent disputes and special needs advice, as well as providing training both tailored and at events within the independent school community.
Andrea is very quick to respond and can be contacted pretty much at any time. She also provides wise counsel and a calm approach. When dealing with tricky parents and managing teachers, Andrea has proved her worth time and time again. Quite simply, I couldn’t do my job without knowing that she is there as my legal ‘guru’ and adviser.

I enthusiastically endorse the legal services provided by Andrea and the GBH Law Schools team. As the Chair of Governors at More House School, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Andrea and her team on various matters crucial to the effective governance and legal compliance of our institution. Throughout our collaboration, Andrea has consistently demonstrated exceptional legal acumen, coupled with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the education sector. Her advice has been not only legally sound but also pragmatic and tailored to the specific needs and context of our school.
Glenn Handley, Chair of Governors, More House School
Their legal expertise and Andrea’s experience collaborating with other independent schools have really benefited us. GBH Law helps to apply the technical knowledge that both myself and the team have and continue to develop. They take our knowledge and show us best practices from a legal perspective for practical application. Andrea helps us to understand any potential pitfalls and to see the bigger picture, a more long-term view, and any potential future implications. This means we can make more informed decisions for the benefit of our pupils, our staff, and the school.
Clare Coley-Maud, Bursar, Longacre School
The calm, clear thinking gives great confidence for future action in School.
