Helen Stone

SOLICITOR AND DIRECTOR OF GBH LAW LIMITED


Helen is an experienced employment lawyer. She graduated from Queen Mary College, University of London, and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York with a distinction before qualifying as a solicitor in 1998.

Prior to her time with GBH Law, Helen spent several years in private practice, before joining a global engineering and consulting company as its first in-house employment lawyer. She has amassed a wealth of experience in all aspects of employment law, both in the UK and internationally, and in particular in:

  • Drafting and advising on contracts of employment, service agreements, consultancy agreements, employee handbooks and policies, implied terms, post-termination restrictions, garden leave provisions, severance terms, changes to and harmonisation of terms and conditions of employment;
  • Advising on disciplinary, capability and grievance procedures as well as termination of employment;
  • Conducting cases and advising in relation to complex contentious matters including unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, breach of contract, sex, race, disability discrimination, whistleblowing and redundancy; and
  • Providing support with due diligence processes and TUPE transfers.

Helen is adept at providing commercially relevant advice and strategic input, helping our clients to achieve their goals whilst mitigating risk.
